Okinawa is a small island that lies at the southern-west end of the Japanese archipelago, surrounded by the beautiful sea.

In conjunction with the concert, a workshop is being offered on traditional Okinawan dance and song at the Japan Information and Cultural Centre, Embassy of Japan.

At the workshop there will be a performance of traditional dance and Shimauta (island songs) by the performers, and explanation of the Okinawa dialect and Kachashi (a dance of celebration), and an opportunity for the participants to try Kachashi themselves.

This workshop is to be taught by the performers of the concert held on the 14th and 15th of November, please see our other ad for information on this concert.

Workshop restriction: 20 people max. If more than 20 people register then we will randomly select 20 people to participate in this workshop.
