Join us for a fun run/walk with a cause!

Partners Relief & Development NZ work with displaced people from Burma along the Thai/Burma border. This run is to raise money for these displaced people. For these displaced people, running is not a choice as they are chased from their land by the military regime. We choose to run to raise money to assist them to build new lives. A further challenge is to run in jandals - this is all the people of Burma have on their feet to run through the jungle. There'll be a special prize category for those who accept this challenge!

See more on the website: www.partnersworld.org.nz/ or www.runforrelief.org.nz

This is a 7km walk/run starting/finishing at Hikoikoi Reserve at the east end of the esplanade Petone by McEwan Park. (Start/finish line beside basketball courts behind Fulton Hogan building) We will use the Hutt River Trail to walk/run to Ewen Bridge in a loop. There may be a longer loop for runners - to be confirmed.

Start time: 2pm (registration from 1:30pm)
Prizegiving: 3:30/4pm
Register online at www.runforrelief.org.nz - your registration fee is your gift toward helping these displaced people.

The course is family-friendly with a few small obstacles that buggies can easily be lifted over.

First aider on site.

Come join us on the beautiful Hutt Trail for a fun afternoon with sausage sizzle, coffee, prizes for children and adult 1st, 2nd and 3rd and spot prizes! Take a look at what Partners are about at the information table - a chance to purchase products made by local ethnic minority groups along the Thai-Burma border to support them.

Another Partners event Big Bikes for Burma will join us at the prizegiving with members of the Partners team and Rob Harley (Journalist of Extreme Close-Up fame) arriving on Big Bikes... they'll share a few words and more about what Partners are doing.

Come join us!
