Success in Mind

Develop an unshakable positive attitude even in the most shaky situations.

Steve Gurney is an international multi-sport champion who won on of the hardest multi-sport competitions (Coast to Coast) record 9 times. Steve has had a 25 year career as an adventure athlete, pitting himself against the unknowns of jungles, deserts, mountains, rivers and oceans, not to mention storms, wild animals, nasty bugs and diseases. He has a wealth of experience surviving and then bouncing back to winning after near-death illnesses, bike and buggy crashes and the 2 Christchurch earthquakes. He is one of those people who finds a positive spin on any situation, who continues going after everyone else has given up. For the first time you can learn from him first-hand the secrets to developing an unshakable positive attitude and robust resilience.

“Life is full of obstacles and opportunities. The important thing is to appreciate that the obstacles themselves are commonly opportunities when viewed from a positive angle. That’s what defines my races, challenges and obstacles. The winner is the one who finds the most opportunities in those obstacles. It’s a healthy kind of thinking. Energy flows where attention goes.” – Steve Gurney

“The devastating 2nd Christchurch quake was far more violent than the September one 5 months earlier. It killed an estimated 200 people and destroyed thousands of homes beyond repair. It’s being touted as NZ’s worst disaster. I survived them both. Out of the fear will rise courage. Courage to accept that to survive these random acts of nature we must be more adaptable, to be able to move with the changes, to be less dependent on technology, and to take more personal responsibility. In other words, be resilient and intelligent.” – Steve Gurney
