Equinox is a collective which harnesses the prowess of four great Auckland players, from the seasoned Barry Young and Mike Booth to the fire of Aaron Coddel and Andy Smith. They return to CJC with some impressive new repertoire and a fantastic sound.

Formed under the nominal leadership of drummer Barry Young, they perform a mixture of original compositions and superbly re-arranged standards which cover the full spectrum from ethereal Metheny to gut-bucket blues, the hard bop of Art Blakey, the harmonic sophistication of Thad Jones plus a healthy mix of Brazilian and Afro- Caribbean influences.
