Northland's first opera on stage, by Johan Strauss II, a marvellous comedy Operetta with all the ingredients of a fabulous night of entertainment. Featuring Northland's own talented opera stars, Emma Couper, Luke Bird, Gayle Dowsett, Tracey Barnier-Willis, Tony Clemow and many of Joan Kennaway's Opera North singers.

Starring guest Diva - Helen Medlyn as the sneering Russian Prince Orlofsky. Follow the bat's revenge through subterfuge, risqué ballroom antics, and a spell in jail for a bunch of well dressed ladies and gentlemen of high society.

The marvellous music of Vienna is set to enchant opera lovers and theatre patrons with the well known arias and choruses - “The Champagne Song,” “The Laughing Song,” “Czardas,” “Brother Mine,” and “Never Go to Law.” Joan Kennaway QSM - Musical Director and Grant Smith - Director combine their expertise and talent to give you a performance to remember.

Discovery Settlers Hotel - Whangarei give you the opportunity to experience Northland Opera at its best. Purchase tickets to “Die Fledermaus” and stay in a newly refurbished executive suite for 2 including a full cooked breakfast at the opera special of $95!
