Beer lovers will get the chance to try a fantastic range of craft brews at the Queenstown Beer Festival this August. Both New Zealand and international beers will be available alongside a great range of food with entertainment from local musicians and a live um pa pa band.

Queenstown Beer Festival aims to be a fun and informative event with an emphasis on small, quality focused breweries. There will also be masterclasses for those who want to learn more about the huge range of beer styles on offer.

Confirmed exhibitors include the Arrow Brew Company, Wanaka Beerworks, Harringtons, Mac’s and Moa. There will also be an international stall with beers from the UK, Germany and Belgium.

The Queenstown Beer Festival will feature The Brewtec HomeBrew Competition with locals able to enter their homemade beers and have them judged by professional brewers. The winner will get the opportunity to brew their own recipe at the Arrow Brew Company brewery in Arrowtown with their beer served on tap as the guest beer. It will also be bottled for sale. Other prizes include brewing equipment and ingredients supplied by Brewtec.

Organiser Paul Tudgay of Queenstown Resort College, is confident the event will be popular with locals and tourists alike.

“The Queenstown Beer Festival will be hugely entertaining but patrons will also be able to improve their knowledge of beer and taste a broad range. We would like it to become a regular fixture in Queenstown’s event calendar.”

If you would like to enter your home brew into the competition please see below.
