Join Rasa for a 7 week course exploring the chakras.

Chakra yoga is a holistic practice of ancient techniques, designed to stimulate the flow of energy vortexes known as chakras. It utilises all forms and types, from the postures of hatha, to breathing practices of pranayama to mantra and meditation in a systematic self study, leading to an in-depth understanding of mind over matter.

It flows between and links holistic health practices to the mystical and sacred.

Chakra yoga is an elaborate form of tantra or kundalini yoga. In Tantra tradition the positive and negative, (male and female) energies of the body are united to create blissful feelings, and in chakra yoga these feelings are awakened at the level of each of the chakras.

In this 7 week series, each week we will be focusing on activating and balancing one of the 7 major chakras. Starting with the root chakra (muladhara) and ending with the crown chakra (sahasrara).

Classes include information about the chakra energies and how you can identify with them in your own life, postures, breathing, mantra and other sound techniques, dance, and relaxation.

Rasa is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher and reiki practitioner. She has recently come from a life-transforming 3 month yoga teacher training in chakra yoga at Pyramid Yoga Centre on Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand.

Through studying and experiencing many different types of yoga - including Hatha, Mantra, Yantra, Raja, Gnana, Bhakti, Kundalini and Pranayama - and learning about the chakra energies, Rasa has come to believe in the healing and transformational power of yoga and is excited to share her knowledge with others.
