Mount Eden Village, Mt. Eden Rd, Auckland

All Ages

Auckland is New Zealand's cradle for naturally bred bees and non-chemical beekeeping.

The best tasting honey in New Zealand, greatest diversity in bee processed pollen is here around us, free to collect from your own hive. Farm your neighbourhood with your bees while providing pollination and fruit to all people in your area.

The food from any garden could never match the quality and variety of nutrition available from a single beehive working your area.

A square meter to keep a hive is all that’s needed to farm 40 square kilometers. Learn beekeeping made easy, designer hives for home beekeepers, minimal equipment, friendly local bees and local online help, take your bees home after the workshop.

Learn dowsing in minutes, understand where bees prefer to live and why, how to read and understand your bees needs and harvest your own food and medicines. Never before did bees need help as they do now. While total beekeeper numbers have halved, industrial hive numbers have doubled. Industrial beekeeping is actually the greatest threat to the existence of honey bees.

You can take up beekeeping, help save Auckland's environment and share the abundant return from your bees. Become an important and independent part of maintaining the biodiversity and rich environment we enjoy now.

In the world of bees, its raining cell phone messages, remote control signals and escaped microwaves, learn how to use crystals to neutralism these effects on your hives.

Ex pat returned, Kerry graduated in "apiculture" from Telford university at 50 years old and developed Beez Thingz Ltd, now a successful innovative business bringing organic back to bees and bees back to backyards.

If you have green fingers then you will succeed as a beekeeper. Walk away from this workshop with bees and confidence to share and maintain the wealth of Auckland's environment.

Numbers are limited to 20 per workshop.
Price: $95
