… because there’s blind faith in the movies’ said Derek Hansen, who began his third novel "Sole Survivor" with the intention of it being made into a movie. Since then, he has had many adventures with Hollywood.

Novelist Philippe Claudel adapted his novel "Les Âmes grises" ("Grey Souls") for screen, and also wrote and directed "I’ve Loved You So Long", which stars Kristin Scott Thomas.

Luke Davies returns to the festival having experienced co-writing the screenplay for the film "Candy", based on his novel of the same name.

Chaired by film maker Annie Goldson.
